Pune, Maharashtra, India, December 2025 — Finolex Industries Ltd has announced the appointment of Rambabu Sanka as Technical Director, marking a significant leadership addition to its manufacturing and operations function. With nearly four decades of experience in chemical and petrochemical manufacturing, Sanka brings deep expertise in VCM/PVC operations, process optimisation, and large-scale plant management.
At 63, Sanka steps into this leadership role following his successful tenure as President – Technical at Finolex Industries, where he drove advancements in process safety, technical efficiency, and manufacturing excellence. His strong familiarity with the company’s systems, combined with his extensive industry experience, uniquely positions him to lead Finolex’s next phase of capacity enhancement, operational transformation, and technology integration.
Before joining Finolex Industries, Sanka held senior leadership roles at TCI Sanmar Chemicals SAE, Reliance Industries Limited, Chemplast Sanmar Limited, Tecnimont, and National Fertilizers Limited. During his tenure at Reliance Industries, he successfully led the debottlenecking of VCM/PVC capacity from 170 KTA to 315 KTA, while at TCI Sanmar Chemicals, he played a pivotal role in achieving rated plant capacities and enhancing long-term competitiveness. His vast technical acumen extends across EDC, PVC, Caustic, and Chlorine-based units, and his work in process safety management and engineering optimisation has contributed to benchmark productivity across global operations in India, Egypt, and the Middle East.
An alumnus of the Indian Institute of Technology, Bombay, with a Master’s degree in Chemical Engineering, Sanka’s academic and industrial foundation reflects a career devoted to operational excellence, technical innovation, and leadership development. His appointment underscores Finolex Industries’ commitment to deepening technical capabilities and advancing sustainable growth in the infrastructure and building materials sector.
