Bengaluru, Karnataka, India, December 2025 — Bangalore International Airport Ltd (BIAL) has announced the appointment of Girish Nair as its new Chief Operating Officer, marking a significant addition to its senior leadership team. With more than 20 years of cross-industry experience spanning aviation, infrastructure, consulting, and brand management, Girish brings a proven record of driving strategic growth, operational excellence, and customer-centric transformation across global markets.
In his new role, Girish will oversee operational strategy, business transformation, and cross-functional development at Kempegowda International Airport (KIA), strengthening BIAL’s position as one of the world’s most progressive airports. His deep understanding of the aviation ecosystem, combined with his expertise in commercial leadership and innovation-driven management, is expected to propel BIAL’s next phase of growth and modernization.
Before joining BIAL, Girish served as Partner – Mobility & Logistics and Global Lead – Airports at KPMG India, where he led large-scale advisory programs for airport infrastructure, aviation strategy, and logistics transformation. His tenure at 26FIVE Global Lab as Senior Advisor – Business Strategy, Global, and as Chief Commercial Officer at GoAir, further deepened his expertise in revenue management, network optimization, and brand growth.
Earlier in his career, Girish held leadership roles at Jet Airways, where he managed international projects including the airline’s expansion into Africa; at Bangalore International Airport Ltd as Assistant Vice President – Head of Airline Marketing & Aviation Contracts; and at The Times Group, Indian Express, and Sify Technologies, where he honed his skills in strategic communications and customer engagement.
Girish holds an academic foundation from SVKM’s Narsee Monjee Institute of Management Studies (NMIMS) and has completed an executive program in Urban Transportation & Multimodal Hub Development from the Indian Institute of Management, Ahmedabad.
