Mumbai, Maharashtra, India, June 2026 — Axis Max Life Insurance Limited has appointed Mrinal Sinha as its new Chief People Officer (CPO), effective July 1, 2026. In his new role, he will lead the company’s people and culture agenda, overseeing talent strategy, leadership development, organizational effectiveness, and workforce transformation initiatives.
Mrinal joins Axis Max Life Insurance with extensive experience across banking, insurance, financial services, and consumer technology sectors. His appointment reflects the company’s continued commitment to strengthening its people strategy and fostering a high-performance workplace culture as it advances its growth ambitions.
Prior to this appointment, Mrinal served with Kotak Mahindra Bank, where he most recently held the position of Senior Executive Vice President & Head – HR Consumer Bank. During his tenure, he played a key role in shaping people strategies for the consumer banking business, driving talent development, workforce planning, and organizational effectiveness initiatives. He also served as Senior Executive Vice President – Head HR Retail Liabilities & 811 and Executive Vice President, contributing to the bank’s people and transformation agenda.
Before joining Kotak Mahindra Bank, Mrinal was Chief Human Resources Officer at CARS24, where he led the people function during a period of rapid business growth and transformation. His experience also includes nearly four years with Bajaj Allianz Life Insurance, where he served as SVP – Head of HR Business Partnering, Talent Management & Employee Relations, overseeing key HR initiatives across the organization.
Earlier in his career, Mrinal worked with Max Life Insurance Company Limited as Corporate Vice President – HR, providing him with valuable familiarity with the organization and its culture. He also spent more than a decade with ICICI Bank, where he held several leadership roles, including Zonal Head – North, Zonal Head – South, Zonal Head Recruitments, and Senior Manager – Human Resources, Canada, gaining extensive experience across talent management, recruitment, employee relations, and HR leadership.
Mrinal began his professional journey with Polaris Software Labs as Assistant Manager – HR, laying the foundation for a distinguished career in human resources and organizational leadership.
An alumnus of XLRI Jamshedpur, where he earned his MBA, Mrinal brings deep expertise in human resources, leadership development, talent management, employee relations, and organizational transformation to his new role.
