Mumbai, Maharashtra, India, June 2026 — Sony Pictures Networks India has appointed Rasesh Upadhyay as Deputy CFO, bringing on board a seasoned finance and strategy leader with extensive experience across media, entertainment, telecom, financial planning, treasury, business strategy, and performance management.
In his new role, Rasesh will work closely with Sony Pictures Networks India’s leadership team on financial strategy, business planning, performance management, and strategic financial decision-making as the company continues to strengthen its position in India’s media and entertainment landscape.
Prior to joining Sony Pictures Networks India, Rasesh served as Head – Strategy & Operations, Entertainment at JioStar India, where he was part of the CEO’s office and contributed to shaping business strategy for the entertainment business across linear and digital platforms.
Before JioStar, he spent nearly 13 years with Star India as Vice President – Planning & Treasury, where he was part of the planning and treasury function. His responsibilities included financial planning, budgeting, deal evaluation, vendor assessment, management reporting, and financial support for key business decisions.
Earlier, Rasesh worked with Etisalat DB Telecom as Senior Manager – Financial Planning & Analysis, where he was part of the founding finance team and contributed to the closure of Etisalat UAE’s investment transaction in India.
He began his career with Bharti Airtel, where he worked across revenue assurance, pricing, and business planning for the Maharashtra and Goa circle. His early experience helped build a strong foundation in financial analysis, revenue management, business planning, and telecom finance.
With deep expertise across financial planning, treasury, strategy, business operations, and performance management, Rasesh brings valuable leadership experience to Sony Pictures Networks India.
