Chennai, Tamil Nadu, India, December 2025 – Mr. Prasad Gopichandran has taken on the role of Senior General Manager – HR (Corporate) at Coromandel International Ltd., one of India’s leading agri-solutions providers. Based in Chennai, Mr. Prasad will play a pivotal role in steering the company’s corporate HR strategy, people development initiatives, and organizational transformation across multiple business verticals.
Prior to joining Coromandel International, Mr. Prasad Gopichandran worked for over 12 years at Daimler India Commercial Vehicles, where he held several progressive HR leadership roles. Most recently, he served as General Manager – Human Resources, leading HR Business Partnering, talent development, policy design, performance management, and cross-functional HR collaborations at a national level.
His earlier roles at Daimler included Assistant General Manager – HR, Divisional Manager – HR, and Senior Manager – HR, where he was responsible for learning and development, compensation, compliance, organizational design, and driving strategic HR initiatives in alignment with business goals. His contributions as Manager – HR also included setting up quality frameworks and managing leadership development programs.
Before Daimler, Mr. Prasad served as Associate Manager – HR at Vedanta Resources Limited, where he drove HR initiatives as a Business Partner for the Captive Power Plant unit in Odisha. His responsibilities encompassed strategic manpower planning, employee engagement, and performance-linked HR interventions.
He started his corporate career as an Assistant System Engineer at Tata Consultancy Services, following which he transitioned into HR with internships at Cavinkare and furthered his career in the HR domain. He holds a Post Graduate Diploma in HRM from Loyola Institute of Business Administration (LIBA), Chennai, with a dual specialization in Human Resources and Finance.
