United States, January 2026 — Aimee Smith has started a new role as Director HR – Production at Green Thumb Industries (GTI), marking an important leadership appointment as the organisation continues to scale its production operations across the United States.
In her new role, Aimee Smith is responsible for leading human resources strategy for GTI’s production function, with a strong focus on labor relations, employee relations, workforce planning, leadership development, and compliance across multi-site manufacturing environments. Her mandate includes supporting operational excellence through effective people practices, strengthening employee engagement, and enabling sustainable growth in a highly regulated industry.
Prior to this appointment, Aimee Smith served as Senior HR Business Partner – Labor at Green Thumb Industries, where she played a critical role in labor relations and employee relations, including collective bargaining, contract negotiations, grievance and arbitration management, NLRB compliance, and union strategy. Her work also extended to strategic HR leadership, workforce analytics, talent management, change management, and M&A due diligence.
Before joining GTI, she spent over six years as Human Resources Business Partner at Ronetco Supermarkets Inc, where she supported large-scale retail operations and strengthened HR processes across locations. Earlier in her career, she held leadership roles at Bed Bath & Beyond as District Training Manager and General Manager, building deep experience in leadership development, training, and operational management.
Her professional journey also includes long-standing operational leadership roles at Pathmark, where she progressed through store management positions and managed high-revenue grocery operations with strong union engagement. She began her HR and people management career with Wawa, contributing to HR operations, training programs, and employee engagement initiatives.
With a career spanning retail operations, labor relations, and strategic HR leadership, Aimee Smith brings a unique blend of frontline operational insight and enterprise HR expertise to her new role at Green Thumb Industries.
