Mumbai, Maharashtra, India, January 2026 — Shiva Krishnamurthy has been appointed Chief Executive Officer at General Mills India. In his new role, he will lead the company’s India operations, driving strategy, growth, and execution across the foods portfolio while strengthening General Mills’ purpose-led agenda in the market.
Before joining General Mills, Shiva Krishnamurthy spent over 25 years with Unilever, most recently serving as Executive Director, Foods & Refreshment at Hindustan Unilever Limited (HUL). In this role, he led a €1.5 billion P&L and was responsible for building a best-in-class Foods business within HUL as an end-to-end operating unit. He also authored the 2025–27 strategy, endorsed by the HUL Board.
Earlier at HUL, he progressed through a series of senior P&L leadership roles including Vice President – Tea, Vice President – Tea & Foods, and Vice President – Tea, Coffee & Foods, where he led India’s market-leading Foods & Beverages business. His tenure was marked by regaining market leadership in Tea, transforming Foods profitability, expanding into new categories, and revitalising the Coffee business to deliver sustained double-digit growth.
Prior to these roles, Shiva Krishnamurthy served as Regional Brand Director – Beverages, South Asia, where he led a holistic refresh of beverage brands across the region, earning global recognition for growth and brand relaunch excellence.
He holds a PGDBM in Marketing from XLRI Jamshedpur, providing strong academic grounding to complement his extensive leadership experience across FMCG categories, brand building, and P&L management.
