Mumbai, Maharashtra, India, January 2026 — Sonali R. has taken on a new role as HR Head at Kwality Wall’s (India) Limited, following the company’s demerger from Hindustan Unilever Limited. In this role, she is leading the end-to-end HR function for KWIL, with a focus on building independent people systems, strengthening culture, and supporting business continuity and growth as a standalone organisation.
Prior to this appointment, Sonali R. was associated with Unilever, where she most recently served as HR Lead – Ice Cream, India. Before that, she held the role of Lead – Talent Management, South Asia, contributing to leadership development, succession planning, and regional talent strategies across markets.
Earlier, she spent over three years with udaan.com, where she held multiple HR leadership roles including HRBP – Food & FMCG and Lead – Talent Management, Employee Engagement & Employer Branding, HRBP – Technology & Product, and Lead – Talent, Culture and Engagement. During this phase, she worked closely with business leaders to scale teams, strengthen engagement, and build employer branding in a high-growth digital commerce environment.
Before joining udaan, Sonali R. was part of Reliance Industries Limited, where she served as HR Business Partner – Corporate Finance and M&A, and earlier held roles as Manager – Learning & Development and Manager – Talent Management, gaining deep exposure to leadership development, capability building, and strategic HR partnering in a large conglomerate.
She began her professional journey with an internship at AkzoNobel, where she worked on talent management dashboards and career pathing frameworks, laying the foundation for her career in HR and people development.
Sonali R. holds an MBA in Human Resource Management from XLRI Jamshedpur, where she was actively involved with the Forum for Industrial Relations (FIRE@X) and the Social Initiatives Group for Managerial Assistance (SIGMA), strengthening her grounding in HR strategy and employee relations.
