Kolkata, West Bengal, India, February 2026 – Suman Chatterjee has been assigned a new role as Business Lead – APAC for Automotive Batteries & Lubricants at Amara Raja Energy & Mobility Ltd, marking a significant milestone in his long-standing journey with the organization.
In his new regional mandate, Suman will lead the go-to-market (GTM) strategy, gap analysis, A&P deployment, and hold full P&L responsibility for the Automotive Batteries & Lubricants portfolio across the Asia-Pacific region. As a strategic business leader, he will drive expansion, strengthen distribution ecosystems, and accelerate value creation across international markets.
Suman has been associated with Amara Raja Energy & Mobility Ltd for over 16 years, most recently serving as Deputy General Manager. During this tenure, he played a pivotal role in driving sustainable business growth through sales strategy formulation, budget planning, branch and franchisee-level target setting, and performance reviews. His leadership strengthened channel development and distribution management through stock norm setting, sales analytics, vertical and horizontal gap analysis, and franchisee expansion initiatives.
He has also led significant initiatives in market development and brand visibility, enhancing retail coverage, showroom infrastructure, branding deployments, and BTL activities. His focus on training and capability building, structured succession planning, CRM and SAP HANA integration, and Kaizen-driven operational excellence has contributed to consistent business performance and operational efficiency.
Prior to Amara Raja, Suman held leadership roles across diverse industries, including Moser Baer India Ltd, Amul (GCMMF), Eli Lilly and Company, and MARK Advertising and Marketing Private Limited. His early career spans roles in sales, territory management, retail and distribution expansion, key account management, and brand-building initiatives. This cross-sector exposure has shaped his expertise in international sales, distribution architecture, team leadership, and enterprise growth.
In his expanded APAC leadership role, Suman is expected to strengthen Amara Raja’s presence across the region’s automotive batteries and lubricants segment, aligning market expansion strategies with the company’s broader global mobility and energy transition vision.
