McDermott Elevates Linda Borne to Senior Vice President and Chief Human Resources Officer

McDermott, a global leader in engineering and construction solutions for the energy industry, has announced the appointment of Linda Borne as Senior Vice President and Chief Human Resources Officer. With a tenure at McDermott that began in 1989, Borne has been instrumental in leading and evolving the company’s human resources landscape.

Previously serving as Vice President of Human Resources since 2023, Borne has been a key member of McDermott’s executive committee, steering the global HR team towards the realization of McDermott’s People Strategy. Her role has encompassed leading HR operations across all business lines, including the recent successful implementation of a global management system, demonstrating her adeptness in managing HR functions with a global perspective.

Michael McKelvy, President and CEO of McDermott, expressed his confidence in Borne’s abilities, stating, “Linda brings extensive experience to her new position and is a valued member of our executive committee. Her global knowledge of human resources and focus on strategic initiatives further a positive work experience for our people.”

Borne’s contributions to McDermott extend beyond her executive roles. As a member of various HR industry organizations, including Evanta, she remains at the forefront of HR innovation and practices. Her academic background, a bachelor’s degree in Business Administration from Nicholls State University in Thibodaux, Louisiana, lays the foundation for her comprehensive understanding of business and human resources management.

McDermott, recognized for its technology-driven approach to transforming global energy resources, relies on its expansive global presence and a workforce of over 30,000 employees to deliver engineering and construction solutions. Borne’s leadership in HR is pivotal as McDermott continues to navigate the challenges and opportunities of advancing global energy infrastructure, fostering a work environment that empowers its employees and supports sustainable growth.

The company, operating in over 54 countries, is committed to being a premier provider of energy industry solutions, with Borne’s appointment marking a significant step in furthering this commitment through strategic HR leadership and workforce development.
