London, United Kingdom, February 2026 — Ameena Sameja has stepped into the role of Global Head of Performance and Recognition at Hiscox, marking a significant progression in her leadership journey within the organization.
In her new global mandate, Ameena will lead the performance and recognition strategy across Hiscox, focusing on strengthening performance frameworks, enhancing reward and recognition programs, and aligning people practices with business growth and employee engagement objectives.
Ameena has been with Hiscox for nearly six years, most recently serving as Head of People. Prior to that, she held the role of Human Resources Business Partner, where she supported strategic workforce initiatives and partnered closely with leadership teams to drive organizational performance and culture transformation.
Before joining Hiscox, Ameena spent over six years at XLN | for small business, progressing through multiple HR leadership roles including HR Manager, Senior HR Consultant, HR Consultant, and HR Advisor. During this time, she built deep expertise across employee relations, learning and development, recruitment, HR operations, compliance, and project management. Her early HR career included end-to-end recruitment management, disciplinary and grievance leadership, training program development, and comprehensive HR reporting.
Earlier in her career, Ameena gained experience in mental health and clinical psychology roles with DNA Care Services, CNWL NHS Foundation Trust, and the Mental Health Providers Forum, where she worked on behavioural assessments, risk management plans, and recovery-focused interventions — providing a strong foundation in behavioural insight and people-focused practice.
With a diverse background spanning specialist insurance, small business services, and healthcare, Ameena brings a unique blend of commercial HR leadership and behavioural expertise to her global performance and recognition remit at Hiscox.
