Noida, Uttar Pradesh, India, March 2026 – Sungkriityayann Khaann has been promoted to Senior Vice President Human Resources at Extramarks, recognizing his significant contributions in leading the organization’s people strategy and HR transformation across India and international markets.
Prior to this elevation, Sungkriityayann served as Vice President Human Resources at Extramarks, where he led end-to-end HR operations for the fast-growing EdTech organization employing more than 4,500 people across India and international markets including South Africa, Dubai, Indonesia, and Singapore. In this role, he drove strategic hiring initiatives across multiple verticals including sales, technology, animation, academics, strategy, and finance while supporting the company’s large-scale workforce expansion and organizational growth.
During his tenure at Extramarks, Sungkriityayann spearheaded several large-scale HR transformation initiatives, including reducing attrition significantly through engagement and policy restructuring programs and implementing structural improvements in talent management and HR operations. He also played a pivotal role in establishing HR infrastructure for several group companies such as NX Block Trades, Tuktuki Entertainments, Tryangle42 Labs, and Daffodil Hotels, overseeing talent strategy, HRMS implementation, and leadership hiring.
Earlier in his career at Extramarks, he held multiple HR leadership roles including Assistant Vice President – Talent Acquisition, Assistant General Manager – HR, and Human Resources Manager, where he led large-scale recruitment initiatives and scaled hiring operations across product, technology, sales, and business functions. His achievements included leading high-volume hiring programs, building strong campus recruitment pipelines, and strengthening the company’s leadership hiring capabilities.
Before joining Extramarks, Sungkriityayann served as Head of Talent Acquisition at Airblack, where he worked closely with founders on strategic HR and talent initiatives. Earlier in his career, he also held roles at Business Octane Solutions Pvt. Ltd. and Think & Learn Pvt. Ltd. (BYJU’s), gaining experience across business development and talent management.
Sungkriityayann holds a PhD in Human Resources Management from Chitkara University and an MBA in Finance and Marketing from SRM Institute of Science and Technology, combining strong academic research with hands-on HR leadership experience in the EdTech industry.
