Surat, Gujarat, India, March 2026 — Torrent Power Ltd has appointed Dr. Pankaj Chavda as General Manager – HR (HR Head), where he will lead the human resources function for the company’s Surat Distribution business.
In this role, Dr. Chavda will oversee the people strategy for the distribution business, focusing on strengthening organizational capability, enhancing employee engagement, and aligning HR initiatives with business growth and operational excellence.
Prior to joining Torrent Power Ltd, Dr. Chavda served as Head – Human Resources at L&T MHI Power Boilers Private Limited, where he provided HR leadership for the organization and played a key role in driving strategic HR initiatives, workforce engagement, and business-aligned people programs.
Earlier, he spent more than 15 years with L&T-MHI Power Boilers Pvt. Ltd., holding leadership roles including Deputy General Manager – Human Resources and Assistant General Manager – Human Resources. During this period, he led HR and industrial relations for the Hazira manufacturing facility, managing talent acquisition, employee engagement, learning and development, performance management, and workforce relations for a large industrial workforce.
During the earlier phase of his career, Dr. Chavda also worked with Larsen & Toubro as Manager – Human Resources, where he handled a broad HR generalist portfolio covering recruitment, learning and development, performance management systems, and employee relations.
He began his HR career with Harsha Engineers International Limited as Assistant Manager – Human Resources, gaining experience across talent acquisition, learning initiatives, and employee engagement programs.
With more than two decades of experience in human resources leadership, particularly across manufacturing and power sector organizations, Dr. Pankaj Chavda brings deep expertise in HR strategy, industrial relations, and workforce development.
