Singapore, March 2026 — Pepperl+Fuchs Group has appointed Balaji Narayanan as Vice President, Global Procurement, where he will lead the company’s global procurement strategy and strengthen supply chain capabilities across its worldwide operations.
In his new role, Narayanan will oversee global sourcing and supplier strategy, focusing on building resilient supply chains, optimizing procurement processes, and supporting the company’s innovation and operational excellence initiatives across its industrial automation and process automation businesses.
Prior to joining Pepperl+Fuchs Group, Narayanan spent more than a decade with Philips, where he most recently served as Senior Director Procurement – Global Commodity Cluster Leader Mechanical. In this role, he led the global direct procurement process for Philips Healthcare, managing a procurement spend of over US$1.4 billion, overseeing a team of more than 55 procurement professionals across North America, EMEA, and APAC, and directing relationships with more than 500 suppliers worldwide.
Earlier at Philips, he served as Senior Director Procurement – Global Commodity Cluster Leader Mechanical Metals, where he managed a global spend of over US$730 million and strengthened supply resilience for critical materials through dual-sourcing strategies and supply chain diversification.
Before that, he worked as Director, Procurement Engineering at Philips, leading global procurement engineering initiatives for domestic appliances and air products. In this role, he aligned product and technology roadmaps with procurement strategy, supported new product introduction processes, and collaborated with innovation teams to optimize value and cost through design-for-excellence and value engineering approaches.
Earlier in his career, Narayanan held leadership roles at AB SCIEX (a Danaher company) as Senior Global Commodity Manager, where he led vendor strategies and managed commodity spend across Asia. He also worked with Verigy (spun off from Agilent Technologies) as Global Strategic Commodity Manager, overseeing supplier negotiations and procurement strategies.
He began his career in procurement and supply chain roles at Venture Corporation Ltd, Swiss Precision Industries, and Beyonics Pte Ltd, building extensive experience in supplier management, commodity strategy, and manufacturing supply chains.
Narayanan holds a Global Executive MBA from INSEAD and a Master of Science in Precision Engineering from Nanyang Technological University, Singapore.
