India, March 2026 — Vikas Goel has started a new position as Director Procurement at Schneider Electric. He brings extensive procurement and strategic sourcing experience across automotive and industrial environments, with a strong track record in localization, supplier development, and cost and value optimization.
Prior to joining Schneider Electric, Vikas Goel spent close to nine years with Morris Garages India, where he led commodity purchasing responsibilities. Most recently, he served as Head commodity purchase – Body and chasis, overseeing procurement of critical automotive components including steel, sheet metal, stamping, fabrication, mechanisms, alloy wheels, tires, suspension, steering and brake systems, paints, and electronic stability control, while managing a supplier base of 40+ and driving localization initiatives to reduce dependency on imported parts.
Earlier at Morris Garages India, he served as Head Commodity Purchase – Electrical & HVAC and EV components EDU & Battery packs, leading strategic sourcing across HVAC systems, wiring harnesses, wiping systems, lamps, engines and transmissions, and high-voltage battery packs and chargers. His work included accelerating localization of high-voltage battery packs, supporting in-house manufacturing decisions, and strengthening supplier ecosystems through cost reduction, budgeting discipline, and long-term supplier partnerships. He also held an additional procurement leadership mandate as Head Procurement (Interior and Exterior – Seats, Plastics, Glass, Weather strips), overseeing strategic sourcing across seats systems, bumpers, sunroofs, glass, and weather strips.
Before MG, Vikas Goel worked with GE HealthCare as Product Sourcing Leader, where he developed and executed long-term sourcing strategies supporting global operations across multiple regions, led sourcing strategies for products manufactured across global sites, and managed supplier relationships while driving cost-saving initiatives and supply chain risk mitigation.
Earlier in his career, he served with General Motors as Manager – Global Sourcing, where he executed commodity strategies, managed supplier portfolios and annual purchase value, and led benchmarking, negotiations, resourcing, and VAVE initiatives. He also worked with Mahindra & Mahindra as Executive – Materials, and began his career with TAFE – Tractors and Farm Equipment Limited as Engineer – Materials, contributing to development and sourcing of castings, forgings, and fabricated components and supporting supplier negotiations and cost evaluation.
