Helsinki, Finland, March 2026 – Anja Kajander has stepped into the role of Chair of the Board at TAPIO, marking a significant leadership transition as the organization continues to advance sustainable forestry and bioeconomy initiatives.
In her new role as Chair of the Board at TAPIO, Anja Kajander will work closely with the leadership team to guide the organization’s strategic direction and support its future growth. She succeeds Karri Koskela, acknowledging his impactful seven-year tenure and leadership during a pivotal phase for the organization.
Currently, she also serves as CEO and National Director at AFS Intercultural Programs Finland, where she leads a mission-driven organization focused on intercultural learning, global citizenship, and societal impact.
Her governance experience is further strengthened through multiple board roles, including positions with organizations such as Santa’s Hotels, HR Legal Services Oy, and AFS Intercultural Programs at a global level, where she contributes to strategy, governance, and international collaboration.
Previously, she served as Board Chair at Motiva Oy, a Finnish government-owned sustainability organization, where she played a key role in accelerating sustainable development initiatives across public and private sectors.
Earlier in her career, she held senior leadership roles including Chief Operating Officer at Antell and Director at Sanoma Pro, where she led business transformation, digital strategy, and large-scale organizational development with full profit and loss accountability.
Anja Kajander holds a Master of Science (Economics), Marketing from Helsinki School of Economics and Business Administration, providing a strong foundation for her extensive leadership and governance career.
TAPIO is a Finnish organization dedicated to promoting sustainable forest management and bioeconomy development. It provides research-based insights, expert services, and practical tools to support responsible forest utilization.
