Gurugram, Haryana, India, April 2026 — Saurabh Kumar has started his new position as Vice President HR – Talent Management, Leadership Training, Succession Planning and Digitalization at Maruti Suzuki India Limited. His elevation marks a significant milestone in his long-standing journey with the company and reflects the organization’s confidence in his leadership across human resources and people strategy functions. In this new role, he is expected to drive key priorities around talent management, leadership capability building, succession planning, and HR digitalization at one of India’s most prominent automotive companies.
Before taking on this position, Saurabh Kumar served at Maruti Suzuki India Limited as Senior General Manager, following his role as Deputy General Manager Human Resources. Earlier, he also held the position of Assistant General Manager, building leadership depth across the company’s HR function. These successive elevations reflect a steady rise through the organization and a growing mandate in managing people strategy, leadership development, and HR transformation initiatives.
Earlier in his journey with Maruti Suzuki India Limited, he worked as Senior Manager and Manager, gaining broad experience across core HR areas and strengthening his expertise in employee relations, people processes, and organizational effectiveness. His progression over more than a decade at Maruti Suzuki highlights a career built on continuity, leadership growth, and deep engagement with the company’s evolving people agenda.
Prior to joining Maruti Suzuki India Limited, Saurabh Kumar served as Employee Relations Manager at Tata Motors, where he spent more than seven years. In that role, he built solid experience in industrial relations and employee engagement, adding strong grounding in workforce management and people-facing leadership responsibilities. Before that, he worked as Senior Officer at Hindalco Industries Limited, further developing his HR capabilities in areas linked to employee engagement and disciplinary action. These early assignments helped shape the strong HR foundation that he has continued to build throughout his career.
Across his professional journey, Saurabh Kumar has developed expertise in human resources leadership, talent development, employee relations, and organizational capability building. His move into this senior leadership role at Maruti Suzuki India Limited comes at a time when talent strategy, leadership readiness, and HR digital transformation are becoming increasingly central to business success. His appointment is therefore both a recognition of his internal journey and an important leadership development for the company’s HR function.
Saurabh Kumar holds a Master of Business Administration (MBA) in Human Resources Management/Personnel Administration from the Xavier Institute of Social Service, where he graduated with Distinction. His academic background has complemented his practical HR leadership experience across major Indian industrial and automotive organizations.
