London, United Kingdom, April 2026 — Vivek Ahuja has started a new position as Chair, Investec Bank plc at Investec. In this role, he chairs Investec Bank plc, the main banking subsidiary of Investec plc, a FTSE 250 company that houses the Investec Group’s non-Southern African operations, including the UK, US, Channel Islands, India, and Europe. His appointment marks another significant milestone in a distinguished global leadership career spanning banking, financial services, governance, and board oversight.
Before assuming this position, Vivek Ahuja was already associated with Investec as Non Executive Director, Investec plc & Investec Bank Ltd. In that capacity, he served across important governance responsibilities and was a member of the Nominations Committee, Risk Committee, and Remuneration Committee. His elevation to Chair of Investec Bank plc reflects a natural progression in his board leadership journey within the group.
Alongside his role at Investec, he currently holds several prominent board mandates. He serves as Independent Non Executive Director | Chair Audit & Risk Committee at Ebury, Non Executive Director | Chair Audit & Risk Committee at Aberdeen, and Senior Independent Director | Chair Audit & Risk Committee at PZ Cussons. These assignments underline his deep expertise in governance, risk management, financial oversight, and leadership across global financial services, wealth, fintech, and consumer businesses.
Earlier, Vivek Ahuja held key leadership positions at Terra Firma Capital Partners, where he served as Chief Executive Officer & Executive Director and previously as Group CFO & COO. During this phase of his career, he combined executive leadership with financial and operational stewardship in the private equity and family office environment. He also served as Non Executive Director at Annington, Board Chair at Food Folk Sverige AB (McDonald’s Sverige), and Non Executive Director at Parmaco Group, broadening his board-level experience across real estate, hospitality, franchising, and related sectors.
A major part of his executive career was built at Standard Chartered Bank, where he spent more than 17 years in senior finance leadership roles. His assignments included Deputy Group CFO, Group CFO, Wholesale Banking, and Regional CFO, Middle East & South Asia. Earlier, he held multiple roles at ANZ, including Regional CFO/COO, Middle East & South Asia, CFO/COO, UAE & Gulf, and Unit Head, Corporate & Institutional Banking. He began his earlier banking career at HSBC as Relationship Manager Corporate Banking. Across these roles, he developed extensive experience in banking, corporate finance, regional leadership, wholesale banking, and international financial management.
His appointment as Chair, Investec Bank plc brings to the role decades of experience across executive management, financial leadership, regulatory environments, and board governance.
