Sydney, New South Wales, Australia, April 2026 — Retail Apparel Group (RAG) has elevated Nicole O’Dowd Martins to the role of Group Head of People & Pay, recognizing her strong leadership in payroll transformation, HR systems, and people operations across the organization.
In her new role, Nicole will lead the integrated People & Pay function, driving strategic initiatives across payroll excellence, HR operations, workforce governance, and employee experience, as RAG continues to scale its multi-brand retail operations across Australia, New Zealand, and South-East Asia.
Nicole has been a key contributor at Retail Apparel Group for over seven years, most recently serving as Group Payroll & HR Manager, where she led the integration of payroll and HR processes, strengthened compliance frameworks, and supported system implementations to enhance operational efficiency. Her elevation reflects her impact in aligning payroll operations with broader people strategy.
Prior to this, she held the role of Group Payroll Manager at RAG, where she managed payroll operations at scale, ensuring accuracy, compliance, and efficiency across a large and diverse workforce spanning retail, warehouse, and corporate functions.
Before joining RAG, Nicole served as Payroll Manager at colette by colette hayman, where she was responsible for managing payroll across Australia, New Zealand, and the UK, supporting a workforce of over 900–1,400 employees. She gained extensive experience in multi-country payroll systems, HR integration, and operational scalability.
Her earlier roles include Payroll Manager at Metro On Hire Pty Ltd, along with positions in finance and operations such as Financial Manager at Palace Leisure Group and Whitehouse Properties, and Business Manager at Allworths Chartered Accountants. She also gained international retail experience as a Retail Manager at Roots in Canada, adding to her diverse operational background.
This blend of payroll, HR, and financial leadership experience positions Nicole uniquely to lead RAG’s evolving People & Pay strategy.
