Mike has been associated with Funko for over three years, most recently serving as Senior Director, People and Culture, where he played a key role in strengthening HR systems, leveraging data-driven decision-making, and enhancing employee experience. Prior to joining Funko, Mike spent over two decades with PetSmart, where he held several senior HR leadership roles. As Senior Director Human Resources, he led a team of HR professionals supporting a workforce of over 3,500 employees across multiple distribution centers in the United States. During this tenure, he drove large-scale initiatives across executive compensation, recruitment, leadership development, and organizational design, directly partnering with C-suite leaders and board members.
His leadership resulted in measurable business impact, including reducing employee turnover significantly, improving engagement levels, and optimizing workforce costs by transitioning from outsourced labor to full-time talent models. He also led diversity and inclusion initiatives, integrating diversity councils across operations to build a more inclusive and engaged workforce.
Earlier in his career at PetSmart, Mike served as Human Resources Director, where he managed HR operations for a large multi-location workforce. He played a pivotal role in talent acquisition, employee engagement, compliance, and performance management, contributing to sustained organizational growth and workforce stability.
