Minneapolis, Minnesota, United States, April 2026 — Ulteig has announced the promotion of Sara Chapman to the role of Chief Human Resources Officer (CHRO), reinforcing the company’s commitment to a strong people-first culture. In this role, she will continue strengthening Ulteig’s people-centric culture while advancing strategies that support its employee-owners across North America and Costa Rica.
Since joining Ulteig in 2024 as Director, HR & Business Services, Sara Chapman has led HR Business Partners, HR Operations, and Total Rewards teams with empathy, curiosity, and a strong focus on service. Her leadership has contributed to building a robust HR foundation centered on trust, purpose, and employee experience.

Prior to Ulteig, she served as VP of People Operations at Electra, where she played a key role in shaping people strategies and driving HR transformation. She also held the position of Vice President Human Resources at Native Roots Colorado, leading HR initiatives aligned with organizational growth and employee engagement.
Earlier in her career, Sara Chapman worked with Brown and Caldwell as Senior Director, HR and Talent Management (Vice President/Officer), and spent several years at Xcel Energy in leadership roles including Director Talent Management and Director Talent Acquisition, building deep expertise across the talent lifecycle. She began her career with HR consulting roles at Lawson Software and Pro Staff.
She holds a Master of Arts in Human Resource & Change Leadership from the University of St. Thomas and brings over 15 years of HR leadership experience.
Sara Chapman succeeds Jim Horn, who will remain with Ulteig as Executive Advisor to the CHRO and CXO through his retirement on July 1, 2026. The organization acknowledged his significant contributions in building a workplace culture rooted in flexibility, inclusion, and collaboration.
