Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia, May 2026 — Marium Waqar has been promoted to Head of Marketing, Malaysia at BAT, marking a significant milestone in her 15-year marketing and brand leadership journey. In this role, she is shaping enterprise-wide marketing, portfolio, and consumer experience strategies to drive commercial growth, brand transformation, and organizational capability as a member of the Malaysia Leadership Team.
Waqar has been associated with BAT for over eight years, holding several strategic roles across markets and categories. Before this promotion, she led digital marketing for Vuse, the world’s number one global vape brand, covering paid and earned media, social media, digital strategy, e-commerce, and influencer marketing.
Earlier at BAT, she held leadership roles including Area Category Manager – Glo, New Categories, THP, APMEA South, Area Brand Category Manager – Velo, New Categories, MESA, Area Brand Manager – Pall Mall, MESA, and Senior Area Manager, building deep expertise in brand transformation, category strategy, and multi-market consumer engagement.
Before BAT, Waqar built a diverse marketing career across Bank Alfalah Limited, Abbott, Canderel, Engro Eximp, JWT Pakistan, LOWE & RAUF, Statuspro Inc, and Johnson & Johnson. Her career reflects strong experience across financial services, consumer healthcare, FMCG, digital strategy, PR, brand management, and commercial marketing.
At Engro Eximp, she launched 10 Engro Bharosa outlets in just one month, while at JWT Pakistan, she won the agency’s first digital accounts for leading national brands. Earlier at LOWE & RAUF and Statuspro Inc, she drove high-impact digital, PR, and business development campaigns, including major earned media and brand growth initiatives.
