Lagos, Lagos State, Nigeria, June 2026 — Mondelēz International, the American multinational confectionery and snacking company behind globally recognized brands such as Cadbury, Oreo, and Toblerone, has appointed Ayman Fahmy as its new Managing Director for West Africa. The appointment marks an important leadership transition for one of the region’s most prominent consumer goods businesses as the company seeks to strengthen its commercial strategy and accelerate growth across West Africa.
In his new role, Fahmy will oversee regional commercial growth initiatives and provide strategic leadership for Cadbury Nigeria Plc, the Lagos-listed subsidiary through which Mondelēz conducts a significant portion of its operations in West Africa. His appointment brings to the organization a wealth of international leadership experience across consumer goods, commercial strategy, sales transformation, and market development.
Prior to joining Mondelēz International, Fahmy served as General Manager – Developing & Export Markets, Middle East & Africa at Reckitt, where he led business growth across diverse emerging markets while driving commercial excellence, organizational capability building, and strategic expansion initiatives throughout the region.
Before his tenure at Reckitt, he was a Director at Mayar Foods and previously served as Vice President at Al Safi Danone in Saudi Arabia. In these leadership positions, he played a pivotal role in strengthening business performance, accelerating market growth, and enhancing commercial execution across highly competitive consumer markets.
A significant portion of Fahmy’s career was spent with Procter & Gamble, where he built an impressive leadership journey spanning more than two decades. During this period, he held several senior regional and global leadership positions, including Vice President, Nigeria, where he successfully transformed the Nigerian business by driving top-line growth, market share expansion, productivity improvements, and organizational capability enhancement. He also held strategic leadership roles in Canada, the Arabian Peninsula, Pakistan, Central Eastern Europe, the Middle East, Africa, and the Near East, overseeing multi-billion-dollar businesses and leading large-scale commercial transformation initiatives.
Earlier in his career at Procter & Gamble, Fahmy played a key role in designing innovative distribution and go-to-market models that significantly expanded market coverage and improved business performance across multiple regions. His extensive experience in commercial strategy, customer development, market planning, and business transformation has established him as one of the most accomplished consumer goods leaders in the Middle East and Africa region.
