New Delhi, Delhi, India, June 2026 — Oil and Natural Gas Corporation Ltd. (ONGC) has appointed Shri Satyan Kumar as Director (Strategy & Corporate Affairs), marking a significant leadership milestone for one of India’s most important energy organizations. A seasoned energy leader with over three decades of distinguished experience, Shri Kumar brings deep expertise across upstream operations, petrochemicals, corporate strategy, engineering services, project management, and renewable energy.
In his new role, Shri Kumar will be responsible for strengthening ONGC’s strategic growth pathways, supporting corporate affairs priorities, and advancing the organization’s long-term transformation agenda. His appointment comes as ONGC accelerates its journey toward becoming an integrated energy major with a stronger focus on sustainability, green energy, and national energy security.
Prior to this appointment, Shri Kumar held key leadership responsibilities across ONGC Tripura Power Company Ltd., where he served as Chairman and earlier as Director. He also served as Chief Executive Officer of ONGC Green Ltd., contributing to ONGC’s renewable energy and green growth ambitions.
Before this, he served as Executive Director – Chief Corporate Strategy at ONGC, where he played a key role in shaping strategic initiatives, business transformation, and long-term growth priorities. Earlier, he was Head Engineering Service, ONGC Ahmedabad, supporting engineering excellence and operational performance.
Shri Kumar also served as Chief General Manager at ONGC Hazira, Surat, where he worked as Location Manager – Works for the Hazira gas processing plant. His leadership in large-scale operational environments has strengthened his expertise in execution, infrastructure management, and energy operations.
Earlier in his career, he worked with OPaL, Dahej/Vadodara as Deputy General Manager – Project Management, overseeing project management and construction supervision of electrical packages across major units at OPaL Dahej. He also served as Chief Engineer – Marketing at ONGC, managing the marketing of crude, gas, LPG, and naphtha produced from Gujarat and Rajasthan.
With his extensive experience across ONGC’s core and emerging energy businesses, Shri Kumar is well positioned to support the organization’s next phase of growth, sustainability, and strategic progress.
