Minneapolis, Minnesota, United States, June 2026 — Erin Shepperd has started a new position as Vice President Human Resources at Cargill, marking a significant milestone in a nearly two-decade career with one of the world’s leading food, agriculture, and supply chain organizations. Her appointment reflects Cargill’s commitment to developing internal leadership talent and strengthening its people strategy as the company continues to drive sustainable growth globally.
In her new role, Erin will help shape Cargill’s human resources strategy, talent agenda, leadership development priorities, workforce planning initiatives, and organizational effectiveness programs. Her extensive experience across compensation, total rewards, HR operations, talent management, sustainability, corporate responsibility, and strategic workforce planning positions her strongly to contribute to Cargill’s continued success.
Prior to this appointment, Erin served as Senior Director, HR Business Partner – Law and Global Impact, where she partnered with senior leadership teams supporting legal functions and global impact initiatives. In this role, she helped drive talent strategy, organizational effectiveness, leadership development, and workforce planning while supporting business objectives across critical corporate functions.
Earlier, she served as HR Leader, Global Impact, supporting Cargill’s sustainability, corporate responsibility, and communications organizations. During this period, she played an important role in aligning people strategies with the company’s environmental, social, and governance priorities while supporting the development of high-performing teams focused on global impact.
Before moving into strategic HR leadership roles, Erin spent several years within Cargill’s Total Rewards and HR Operations functions. She served as Portfolio, Performance & Analytics Leader – Total Rewards, where she led initiatives focused on compensation strategy, workforce analytics, performance management, and rewards optimization.
Her career progression at Cargill also includes roles as Performance Leader – Global HR Solutions, Compensation Lead – North America, Compensation Consultant, Senior Analyst – Total Rewards Center of Excellence, and Compensation Analyst, giving her deep expertise in compensation design, employee rewards, workforce analytics, and talent management.
Earlier in her professional journey, Erin worked as a Logistics Coordinator at Cargill, gaining valuable operational experience within the company’s global supply chain environment. Prior to joining Cargill, she served as a Premier Banker at Wells Fargo, where she developed strong customer relationship and financial services experience.
Having spent 19 years growing through a wide range of HR, compensation, analytics, operational, and leadership roles, Erin exemplifies Cargill’s commitment to developing leaders from within. Her appointment reflects both her broad business understanding and her ability to lead people-focused transformation across a global organization.
