Milan, Italy, July 2026 – Opera Hotels has appointed Monica Suri to lead the opening and market positioning of Tenuta di Menelao, a Luxury Collection Hotel & Spa, Turi, a prestigious addition to The Luxury Collection, part of Marriott International’s global luxury hospitality portfolio.
In her new role as General Manager, Suri will oversee the pre-opening strategy, operational launch, brand positioning, commercial performance, guest experience, talent development, and long-term growth of the luxury property. She will play a key role in establishing Tenuta di Menelao as a distinctive luxury destination within Italy’s high-end hospitality landscape while aligning the property with the globally recognized standards of The Luxury Collection.
Suri brings more than two decades of hospitality leadership experience spanning luxury hotels, resorts, destination management, business development, and international operations. Prior to joining Opera Hotels, she served as Vice President of Business Development at Atmosphere Core, where she was responsible for driving international expansion strategies, developing strategic partnerships, and identifying growth opportunities across global markets.
Earlier, she served as General Manager at Baglioni Hotels & Resorts in the Maldives, a member of The Leading Hotels of the World, where she successfully led repositioning and transformation initiatives that strengthened the resort’s market presence, guest experience, and commercial performance.
She also held a General Manager position with Atmosphere Core in the Maldives, leading luxury hospitality operations and driving business growth across a highly competitive international tourism market.
Before her assignments in the Maldives, Suri spent nearly 12 years with Marriott International, holding several senior leadership positions, including General Manager, Hotel Manager, and multiple executive committee roles across the company’s hospitality portfolio in India. During this period, she developed extensive expertise in hotel operations, luxury guest experiences, commercial management, organizational leadership, and talent development.
Her appointment reflects Opera Hotels’ commitment to attracting experienced global hospitality leaders as it continues to expand its portfolio of luxury properties across Italy and Europe.
