Augusta, Maine, United States, June 2026 — Maine Public Employees Retirement System (MainePERS) has appointed Karen Doyle as Chief Financial Officer, strengthening its executive leadership team as it continues its mission of serving public employees, retirees, beneficiaries, and participating employers across the state of Maine.
In her new role, Doyle will oversee the financial stewardship of the organization and support MainePERS’ commitment to serving as a trusted and effective fiduciary for its members. She will play a key role in ensuring sound financial management and supporting the long-term sustainability of the retirement, disability, insurance, and savings programs administered by the organization.
Prior to joining MainePERS, Doyle served as Director of Financial Planning at MaineHealth, where she led financial planning activities and supported strategic financial decision-making for one of the region’s leading healthcare organizations.
Before MaineHealth, she spent more than 17 years with MaineDOT, serving as Director of Finance and Administration. During her tenure, she led finance and administrative functions, contributing to financial oversight, budgeting, operational planning, and organizational effectiveness across the department.
With extensive experience spanning public sector finance, healthcare financial planning, budgeting, administration, and financial management, Doyle brings a strong background in fiscal leadership and organizational stewardship to her new position.
Her appointment reflects MainePERS’ continued focus on maintaining strong financial governance and delivering value to its active and retired members while supporting the long-term sustainability of its programs and services.
