Vishal Wadhwa Joins Sathapana Bank as Deputy Chief Executive Officer

Phnom Penh, Cambodia, July 2026 — Sathapana Bank has appointed Vishal Wadhwa as Deputy Chief Executive Officer. Based in Phnom Penh, he will work closely with the executive leadership team to accelerate business growth, strengthen customer-centricity, drive innovation and create long-term value for customers, employees, shareholders and the communities the bank serves.

Vishal brings nearly three decades of leadership experience across banking, financial services, rural finance, operations and business transformation, having led large-scale businesses and strategic initiatives across India, the Middle East and Southeast Asia.

Prior to joining Sathapana Bank, Vishal served as Executive Vice President at Bandhan Bank for around three years, where he headed the Micro Banking and Emerging Entrepreneur Business, leading one of the bank’s key growth businesses focused on financial inclusion and entrepreneurship.

Earlier, he spent close to one year as Executive Vice President at Arohan Financial Services Limited, leading the Micro Banking business across operations, products, collections and business development.

Before that, Vishal built more than 10 years with SMFG India Credit, progressing from Senior Vice President & General Manager to Executive Vice President. During this period, he led the Rural Business portfolio and was responsible for rural business strategy, integrated risk management, collections and business expansion.

Earlier, Vishal served as Vice President at Tata Consultancy Services for over one year, where he led client engagement and operations delivery for the Commercial Bank of Qatar, overseeing banking operations, trade services and contact centre transformation across Doha and Chennai.

Prior to TCS, he spent over 10 years with Citi, advancing through leadership roles including Assistant Vice President and Vice President. He led national distributed operations, regional operations and risk control functions, managing large operational teams and driving operational excellence across multiple locations.

Earlier in his career, Vishal served as Risk Manager at ABN AMRO for approximately one year, following an earlier tenure with Citi as Unit Head – Cards Collections, where he built his foundation in retail banking operations and collections management.
