Munich, Bavaria, Germany, August 2026 — IDnow, Europe’s leading provider of digital identity and fraud prevention solutions, has appointed Philippe Morel as Chief Executive Officer, effective immediately. He succeeds Andreas Bodczek, who is stepping down after more than seven years of leadership during which he transformed IDnow into one of Europe’s leading digital identity and fraud prevention companies.
The leadership transition comes at a pivotal moment for IDnow following the launch of its IDnow Trust Platform in June 2026, marking the company’s evolution from traditional identity verification toward continuous digital trust across the entire customer lifecycle.
As Chief Executive Officer, Morel will lead IDnow’s next phase of growth, focusing on expanding the company’s AI-powered identity, fraud prevention, authentication, and digital trust capabilities while helping customers navigate evolving European regulations, including AMLR, eIDAS 2.0, and the emergence of EU Digital Identity Wallets.
Philippe brings more than 30 years of global leadership experience across financial services, technology platforms, and regulated industries, with extensive expertise in business transformation, digital innovation, and private equity-backed growth.
Most recently, he served as Chief Executive Officer of Railsr, where he led the company’s strategic repositioning and commercial transformation ahead of its merger with Equals Money.
Previously, Morel was Chief Executive Officer of SETL, a blockchain-based financial market infrastructure provider, where he repositioned the business into payments and digital settlement networks, led the launch of the Regulated Liability Network (RLN) tested with the Federal Reserve Bank of New York, and delivered tokenisation initiatives for leading global financial institutions.
Earlier in his career, Morel spent many years at Boston Consulting Group (BCG), rising to Senior Partner and Managing Director. He led the firm’s Global Capital Markets Practice and Private Equity EMEA business while advising boards and CEOs of major financial institutions across Europe, North America, and Asia. He also served for nine years as Chair of BCG’s Global Audit and Risk Committee.
He holds an MBA from Harvard Business School and a degree in Finance from HEC Paris.
Commenting on the appointment, Martin McCourt, Chair of IDnow, said, “We are delighted to welcome Philippe to IDnow at a pivotal moment. Following the launch of our Trust Platform, Philippe’s combination of strategic expertise and hands-on leadership across regulated technology and financial services businesses makes him ideally suited to lead IDnow into its next phase of growth.”
Speaking on his appointment, Philippe Morel, Chief Executive Officer, IDnow, said, “IDnow is a genuinely exceptional business at a time when regulation, digital identity wallets, and increasingly sophisticated AI-driven fraud are reshaping the market. The newly launched IDnow Trust Platform enables organisations to move beyond one-time verification toward continuous trust across the customer lifecycle. I look forward to working with our customers, colleagues, and partners as we define and execute the company’s next phase of growth.”
The company also expressed its gratitude to Andreas Bodczek for his leadership since 2018, highlighting his role in expanding IDnow through the acquisitions of identity Trust Management AG and ARIADNEXT, strengthening its European footprint and culminating in the launch of the IDnow Trust Platform.
