Mumbai, Maharashtra, India, January 2026 — Abu Osama has started a new position as Vice President – FAC ReInsurance at Marsh McLennan India. In this role, he will focus on strengthening facultative reinsurance capabilities, supporting complex risk placements, and delivering value-driven solutions for clients across diverse sectors.
With more than a decade of experience in general insurance and reinsurance, Abu brings deep expertise across facultative reinsurance, large and complex risk portfolios, product development, and broker-led business growth. In his current role at Marsh McLennan India, he is responsible for supporting clients with tailored FAC reinsurance solutions while working closely with insurers and global markets.
Prior to this appointment, Abu was associated with Cholamandalam MS General Insurance Co. Ltd., where he progressed through multiple leadership roles over nearly nine years. Most recently, he served as Chief Manager – FAC RI, overseeing facultative reinsurance operations and supporting large, complex risk placements on a pan-India basis.
Earlier at Cholamandalam MS, he worked as Senior Manager – Mega & Large Risk P&C, managing high-value commercial insurance portfolios and supporting business development initiatives for large and complex risks. He also held the role of Senior Manager, contributing to product development, underwriting coordination, and portfolio expansion.
Before joining Cholamandalam MS, Abu was associated with Tata AIG General Insurance Company Limited as Relationship Manager, where he worked closely with corporate and SME brokers, supported marine, property, and casualty lines, and helped drive both top-line and bottom-line performance through customized insurance solutions.
In the early stages of his career, he worked with Mahindra Insurance Brokers Limited and Beacon Insurance Brokers Pvt. Ltd., handling corporate and SME client acquisition, tender-based business, insurance portfolio customization, and relationship management, building a strong foundation in commercial insurance and broker-led distribution.
