Mumbai, Maharashtra, India, March 2025 — Ajay Kapur has been reappointed as Managing Director of Ambuja Cements Limited for a term of two years, effective April 1, 2025. Currently serving as CEO of the Cement Business at the Adani Group, he oversees Ambuja Cements, ACC Limited, Penna Cements, and Sanghi Industries, leading a cement portfolio with a ~$15 billion market capitalization.
With nearly 15 years of C-suite experience, Ajay has been pivotal in scaling Ambuja Cements into a 100+ million-tonne cement powerhouse. His leadership has driven transformative milestones including the integration of ACC and Ambuja, expansion of cement capacity by over 70%, and a strong focus on cost efficiency, digitalization, and sustainability.
Ajay also serves as Chairman of Sanghi Industries Ltd., and prior to his current role, he held senior executive positions at Vedanta Resources, where he managed businesses across aluminium, power, and group-wide commercial functions. A veteran of the cement industry, Ajay’s strategic vision and operational excellence continue to drive the Adani Group’s cement vertical toward becoming one of the world’s largest cement players.
