Mumbai, Maharashtra, India, October 2025 – Raj Petro Specialties Ltd, a member of the Shell Group, has announced the appointment of Mr. Praveen Nagpal as its new Chief Operating Officer (COO). With an illustrious career spanning over 28 years, Praveen brings deep expertise in strategic transformation, research and development, sourcing, and supply chain excellence, making him a key addition to the leadership team as the company continues its vision of driving innovation and growth — “Everyday Forward.”
In his new role, Praveen will oversee operational excellence, business transformation, and value creation across Raj Petro’s diverse portfolio. His extensive experience in the lubricants and petrochemical sectors, coupled with his leadership in technology-driven business development, positions him to strengthen Raj Petro’s integration with Shell’s global innovation and sustainability agenda.
Prior to joining Raj Petro, Praveen Nagpal had a remarkable 16-year tenure with Shell India Lubes, where he held multiple leadership roles culminating in his position as Chief Technology Officer – Lubricants & Services. In this capacity, he led technology and business development for India’s industrial and automotive lubricants business, driving portfolio strategy, cost optimization, and customer-centric digital initiatives. His leadership contributed to groundbreaking progress in sectors such as construction, mining, plastic manufacturing, and emerging domains like data center immersion fluid computing and used oil circular economy.
Before his role as CTO, Praveen served as Global Product Application Specialist – Stationary Power Engine Lubricants at Shell, where he developed global sector strategies and managed R&D collaborations across more than 40 international markets, including Indonesia, Mexico, Saudi Arabia, Germany, and Turkey. His efforts significantly expanded Shell’s global footprint and strengthened relationships with key OEMs.
Earlier in his career, Praveen worked with Chevron Lubricants India Pvt. Ltd. as Segment Manager – Power and Marine, where he led business development, sales, and marketing operations for the marine and power generation sectors. Prior to that, he spent nearly a decade with Wärtsilä India Ltd., where he served as Manager – Technical Service and Field Service Manager, managing medium-speed marine engines and field operations with a focus on performance reliability and customer satisfaction.
Through his career, Praveen has built a reputation for combining technical excellence with commercial leadership, mentoring teams across functions, and pioneering innovation in product development and operations. His collaborative approach and strategic acumen have consistently driven growth, efficiency, and transformation across organizations.
