Mumbai, Maharashtra, India, April 2026 — Syngenta India has announced the elevation of Ajaypal Rathore to the role of Head of Strategic Alliance & Business Development – India & Sri Lanka, marking a significant leadership transition within the organization.
Ajaypal moves into this strategic role after serving as National Sales Manager for North & West India, where he played a pivotal role in driving market expansion and strengthening Syngenta’s commercial footprint across key regions. His transition reflects the company’s focus on leveraging experienced leadership to unlock new growth avenues and deepen strategic partnerships.
With over three decades of experience in commercial leadership, Ajaypal has been instrumental in building strong market presence, creating high-impact brands, and enhancing customer engagement through focused strategies and execution excellence. Known for his ability to identify growth opportunities and lead large-scale initiatives, he has consistently contributed to Syngenta’s success in competitive markets.
In his new mandate, Ajaypal will lead Institutional Business, Value Chain Business, and Adjacent Technologies, driving collaboration-led growth and innovation. His role will be central to expanding Syngenta’s strategic alliances and advancing business development initiatives across India and Sri Lanka.
Ajaypal has had an extensive and distinguished career with Syngenta, spanning over 30 years, during which he has held a wide range of leadership roles across sales and business functions.
Most recently, as National Sales Manager, he led commercial operations across North & West India, driving growth through strong channel management, customer-centric strategies, and team leadership. His tenure in this role significantly strengthened Syngenta’s regional market position.
Prior to this, he served as Division Manager – North, where he oversaw key regional operations, followed by roles as Zonal Sales Manager, Project Lead, and Area Sales Manager, steadily building expertise in market development and operational execution.
Earlier in his career, Ajaypal held multiple progressive roles including Team Leader, Area Sales Executive, Senior Sales Executive, Sales Executive, and Sales Officer, gaining deep, grassroots-level understanding of the agricultural market and customer dynamics.
His journey reflects a consistent track record of growth, leadership, and long-term commitment, making him a key pillar in Syngenta’s commercial leadership ecosystem.
