Singapore, December 2025 – Albert Shu has been appointed as the Chief Communications & Marketing Officer at SJ Group, marking a significant addition to the leadership team of the global infrastructure and urban consulting powerhouse. In his new role, Albert will be responsible for driving global branding, strategic communications, stakeholder engagement, and marketing transformation across SJ Group’s expansive portfolio and worldwide operations.
Before joining SJ Group, Albert Shu served as President at Weber Shandwick, where he led the strategic integration of the Singapore and Hong Kong markets into a unified regional hub. His leadership resulted in new growth opportunities and strengthened client offerings across both regions. He also provided senior counsel to major clients in areas such as corporate positioning, crisis management, stakeholder engagement, and special situations advisory.
Prior to that, Albert held the role of Managing Director at Weber Shandwick in Hong Kong, where he led one of the most successful and profitable offices in the agency’s global network. Under his leadership, the Hong Kong team achieved nine consecutive years of revenue growth and won multiple industry accolades, including repeated recognition as “Public Relations Agency of the Year.” His tenure was marked by transformational leadership, culture building, talent diversity, and client retention.
Earlier in his career, Albert Shu was Vice President / Senior Vice President at Weber Shandwick, where he built and led practices across corporate, tech, and financial services. He advised clients on investor relations, media engagement, and strategic communications in sectors such as private banking, real estate, and asset management.
Before joining the agency world, Albert served as Regional Director, Marketing & Communications at Deloitte Consulting, covering key regions including Australia, Hong Kong, Mainland China, South Africa, Southeast Asia, South Korea, and Taiwan. He began his communications journey at Burson-Marsteller, where he managed corporate and financial services accounts in Hong Kong.
