Mumbai, Maharashtra, India, December 2025 — FMC India has announced the appointment of Prashant Hegde as its new Managing Director, reinforcing its leadership bench as the company embarks on its next phase of transformation and growth. With over three decades of experience in the agriculture sector, Prashant brings deep expertise across marketing, sales, business transformation, and mergers & acquisitions.
In his new role, Prashant will lead FMC India’s strategic agenda to accelerate growth, strengthen operational excellence, and deepen customer partnerships while advancing sustainable and technology-driven crop protection solutions. His appointment underscores FMC India’s commitment to innovation, leadership continuity, and long-term value creation for farmers and stakeholders across the agri-ecosystem.
Prior to joining FMC, Prashant served as CEO – Agri at PI Industries Ltd, where he laid a strong foundation for future growth, established the company’s biologicals business, and built a capable leadership team to drive the organization’s next evolution. His tenure at PI Industries was marked by strategic expansion, portfolio diversification, and a renewed focus on sustainability and innovation.
Earlier, Prashant spent over a decade at Monsanto Company, holding multiple leadership positions including Sales Director – South Asia, Director – Technology Licensing, and Business Head (Vegetable Seeds) – Asia Pacific. At Monsanto, he was instrumental in scaling the India sales organization, driving strong growth across crop protection and seeds, and leading the integration of Bayer and Monsanto’s vegetable seeds businesses across the APAC region. He later served as Business Head – Asia Pacific at Bayer Crop Science, where he continued to advance the region’s agri-business transformation and strategic integration.
Prashant’s early career included leadership roles at PI Industries, Wockhardt Ltd., and The SEARLE Company Ltd., where he contributed to product strategy, marketing, and international business development. His deep understanding of global agri-markets and his track record of leading transformation initiatives position him as a strong catalyst for FMC India’s continued growth and innovation.
