This strategic appointment highlights CMS’s renewed commitment to integrating people, performance, and purpose in driving digital readiness, cultural agility, and profitability.
Augustine rejoins CMS after nearly a decade, bringing with him extensive leadership experience across high-growth organizations and transformative business environments. In his earlier tenure as Senior Vice President & Head of Human Resources at CMS Info Systems, he played a key role in CMS’s post-Blackstone transformation and helped scale the business into India’s leading cash management company. His contributions were instrumental in CMS’s successful acquisition by Baring Private Equity Asia.
Prior to his return, Alex served as Chief People Officer & Head of Distribution Business at WayCool Foods, where he led both HR transformation and P&L for a ₹240 Cr distribution vertical. His efforts turned around a loss-making business unit into profitability, demonstrating his deep understanding of the intersection between people strategy and financial performance.
Before that, Alex was Chief People and Culture Officer at ISS Facility Services India, where he led a workforce of 40,000+ across 150 cities. His leadership was pivotal in operational scaling, digital HR transformation, and launching high-impact DE&I and financial control initiatives, including the “Five Pillars” profitability framework.
Alex’s career began with leadership roles at Ingram Micro, AVT McCormick Ingredients, and Taj Hotels, where he gained expertise in M&A integration, industrial relations, and workforce scale-ups across hospitality, manufacturing, and tech.
