Alex Branton Appointed as Chief Technology Officer at Passio AI

Menlo Park, California, United States, September 2025 — Alex Branton has been appointed as the Chief Technology Officer at Passio AI, where he will lead the company’s global technology vision and innovation agenda. In this role, he will drive advancements in Passio’s AI platform, strengthen its engineering capabilities, and spearhead the development of scalable, next-generation solutions that empower millions of users worldwide.

Alex has been with Passio AI for over four years, most recently serving as Director of Engineering & Full Stack Lead. In this capacity, he oversaw full-stack development initiatives, strengthened engineering processes, and contributed to the expansion of Passio’s Mobile AI SDKs across global markets. Earlier at Passio, he also worked as a Senior Back End Engineer, where he played a key role in developing the company’s scalable AI-driven infrastructure.

Prior to Passio, Alex worked at Scanline VFX in Vancouver for nearly seven years, where he advanced from 2D Pipeline Developer to 2D Development Supervisor, building technical solutions to support major visual effects projects.

Before his time at Scanline, he taught at Seneca Polytechnic as a Professor in the Visual Effects for Film and Television program, contributing to the development of the next generation of creative and technical talent. He also gained hands-on production experience as a Compositor and VFX Coordinator at Mr. X Inc., and as a Jr. Compositor/Layout Artist at SPIN VFX, where he contributed to film and television projects.

Alex began his career in visual effects through freelance projects, including compositing work on the film Exit Humanity, and earlier graduated with honors from Seneca Polytechnic with a specialization in Visual Effects for Film and Television.
