Kuwait City, Kuwait, October 2025 — American International University (AIU), Kuwait has promoted Alexandra Taskaeva to the role of Executive Director of HR. In this capacity, she will oversee the university’s people strategy, leading initiatives in talent management, employee engagement, training, and organizational development to strengthen AIU’s commitment to delivering a high-quality American-style education.
Taskaeva has been with AIU for nearly three years, growing rapidly through a series of leadership roles. Most recently, she served as HR Director, following earlier positions as HR Manager & Senior HR Business Advisor, HR Business Advisor, and Human Resources Officer, where she played a critical role in supporting employee relations, onboarding, training, and advisory services.
Her earlier experience includes serving as a Human Resources Intern at the United Nations Population Fund (UNFPA) in Istanbul, where she contributed to HR processes across Eastern Europe and Central Asia. She also gained valuable exposure to human rights and policy through internships at the Centre for Policy Research in New Delhi, the Association for Diplomatic Studies & Training in Washington, D.C., and the China & Central Asia Studies Center in Almaty, Kazakhstan.
Taskaeva began her professional journey as an Economic Security and HR Department Assistant at Altayenergosbyt JSC in Russia and further enhanced her international experience through her role in the Department of International Relations and Protocol, Government of Altai Krai.
