Gurugram, Haryana, India, February 2026 —Alvarez & Marsal has strengthened its Disputes & Investigations practice in India with the appointment of Tanmay Bhargav as Managing Director. His appointment underscores the firm’s continued investment in expanding its leadership bench and delivering deep sector expertise to clients navigating complex regulatory and commercial challenges.
Tanmay brings more than 24 years of experience across forensic services, infrastructure advisory, regulatory matters, and financial services. He specializes in complex investigations, dispute advisory, and competition/antitrust matters, and has provided expert witness testimony in a variety of disputes. In his new role at Alvarez & Marsal, he will further enhance the firm’s ability to deliver practical, results-driven solutions in high-stakes and multifaceted matters.
Prior to joining Alvarez & Marsal, Tanmay served as Partner at KPMG India, where he led advisory engagements involving investigations, regulatory reviews, and dispute matters. Before that, he held multiple senior leadership roles at KPMG, including Associate Partner and Director, Advisory, building strong capabilities in forensic and dispute advisory services.
Earlier in his career, he served as Director at Deloitte India, and Associate Director, Advisory at KPMG, strengthening his expertise in investigations, regulatory compliance, and financial advisory. His broader professional journey also includes roles at Bank Muscat S.A.O.G., Crisil India Limited, SBI Capital Markets, and Infosys BPO Limited, providing him with a strong foundation across project advisory, structured finance, infrastructure advisory, and international operations.
Tanmay holds a Masters in Finance (Corporate Finance) from London Business School and a PGDM (Finance) from the Indian Institute of Management, Lucknow.
