Atlanta Metropolitan Area, United States, February 2026 – Amaka Agumadu has been appointed as Senior Vice President – People Operations at Humana. The announcement was shared by Michelle O’Hara, Chief Human Resources Officer, Humana, welcoming Amaka to the executive leadership team as the organization advances its future-of-work transformation.
Reporting directly to the CHRO, Amaka will lead enterprise associate experience, HR technology, workplace strategy, real estate, and safety and security for more than 65,000 associates. She holds accountability for a $650M+ operating and capital portfolio, with a mandate to optimize people, technology, workspace, and HR services—enhancing associate experience while strengthening how Humana serves its members and patients.
Prior to joining Humana, Amaka served as Global Head, People Transformation & Operations at Visa, where she drove enterprise-wide HR modernization and digital transformation initiatives. Earlier, at Discover Financial Services, she led People Operations, Technology & Analytics globally and also served as Interim Global Talent Leader, advancing data-led workforce strategies and HR service innovation.
Her earlier leadership journey includes global HR operations roles at Varian Medical Systems, Synchrony Financial, Barclays, and Credit Suisse, where she built deep expertise in shared services, resourcing strategy, compliance, and large-scale HR transformation across international markets.
Beyond her corporate leadership, Amaka serves as Chairperson of the Board at Connecting Stories, championing initiatives that create empowering spaces for women and girls.
