Mumbai, Maharashtra, India, February 2025 – Amit Gupta has joined Motilal Oswal Private Wealth as Head – Equities, where he will be responsible for leading portfolio management services (PMS) for Ultra High Net Worth Individuals (UHNI), family offices, and corporate clients. In this role, he aims to develop high-growth investment strategies and enhance the firm’s equity offerings.

Before joining Motilal Oswal Private Wealth, Amit was associated with ICICI Securities Ltd. for nearly 17 years, holding multiple leadership roles. As Senior Vice President, Fund Manager, and Head – PMS, he managed flagship equity funds, Smart Beta strategy, and multi-asset funds while focusing on risk-adjusted returns and high-quality investments. Earlier, he led the Equity Quantitative & Derivatives Research team, catering to retail, institutional, and global clients across the Middle East, Hong Kong, and Singapore.

Prior to ICICI Securities, Amit served as Senior Equity Research Analyst at Karvy Stock Broking Ltd., where he played a crucial role in boosting equity and derivatives volumes through strategic research initiatives. His outstanding performance earned him the Best Employee Award for research-driven contributions to business growth.

His early career began at Mark Exhaust Systems Limited, where he worked as a Quality Control and Customer Support Engineer in the auto ancillary industry. His experience in this sector provided him with valuable insights into manufacturing quality standards and customer service excellence.

Amit holds an MBA in Finance (CFA) from IBS Hyderabad, where he ranked among the top 5 percentile in Finance. He also has a Gold Medal in Mechanical Engineering from Bangalore University, reflecting his strong academic foundation in both technical and financial domains.
