Mumbai, Maharashtra, India, December 2024 – Amita Karia has been named the Chief Financial Officer of Universal Music Group (UMG). Bringing over 25 years of financial leadership experience across various industries, Amita will lead UMG’s financial strategies in India, driving growth and operational efficiency while contributing to the company’s vision of creating innovative and immersive music experiences.
Amita most recently served as the Chief Financial Officer at FCB Group India, where she led strategic financial initiatives for nearly two years, supporting the creative advertising giant’s success.
Prior to that, she held the position of Financial Director at Jaguar Land Rover India Limited, where she contributed to the luxury automotive brand’s financial management and growth for over four years.
Amita also spent two decades at Tata Interactive Systems, holding roles including Chief Financial Officer, Head of Taxation and Compliance, and Deputy Finance Head, showcasing her expertise in financial planning, SAP implementation, and global operations.
Her early career includes a tenure as an Associate at PwC, where she gained foundational experience in finance and auditing.
