New Delhi, India, August 2024 – Akums Drugs and Pharmaceuticals Limited has announced the appointment of Amrut Medhekar as the new Chief Executive Officer – CDMO Business effective from August 24, 2024. In his new role, Medhekar will report directly to Sanjeev Jain and Sandeep Jain, the Managing Directors of the company. With over 27 years of extensive experience in the pharmaceutical industry, Medhekar brings a wealth of knowledge in strategic planning, profit & loss management, team building, digitization, and budgetary control.
Prior to joining Akums Drugs and Pharmaceuticals Limited, Amrut Medhekar served as President, India Business – Rx, Contract Manufacturing, Gx & Global API at Wockhardt Ltd. for approximately two and a half years, where he played a pivotal role in driving strategic initiatives and managing key business operations.
Before his tenure at Wockhardt, Medhekar spent over 13 years at Zydus Group in various leadership roles, including Senior Vice President & Cluster Head, where he led commercial excellence, strategy, and digital initiatives for the organization.
Earlier in his career, Medhekar also held significant roles at Ranbaxy and Torrent Pharmaceuticals Ltd., where he successfully implemented business development and market-building strategies.
