London, England, United Kingdom, March 2025 – Andrew Faulkner has been appointed as Director, People and Workplace at the Department for Culture, Media and Sport (DCMS). In this key leadership role, Andrew will spearhead workplace strategies, organizational development, and people initiatives across one of the UK’s most culturally significant government departments.
Prior to joining DCMS, Andrew served for nearly two years as Deputy Director, HR at the Department for Energy Security and Net Zero, where he was responsible for driving people strategy, employee engagement, and organizational restructuring to align with the department’s evolving mandates.
Before that, Andrew spent almost six years at the Department for Business, Energy and Industrial Strategy (BEIS), where he held multiple senior HR roles. As Deputy Director, HR and Deputy Director, People, PMO and Delivery Management, he contributed significantly to organizational transformation, talent management, and workforce planning within the digital and corporate services divisions.

Earlier in his civil service career, Andrew held influential positions such as Deputy Head, Executive Recruitment in the Cabinet Office, and Executive Recruitment Account Manager at HM Revenue & Customs, playing a vital role in shaping leadership recruitment strategies across various government departments.
He also held key positions in workforce planning and talent selection at HM Courts & Tribunals Service, Judicial Appointments Commission, and Department for Work and Pensions, where he began his public service journey over two decades ago. Across these roles, he developed extensive expertise in strategic HR, workforce planning, redeployment, and employee engagement.
