Ahmedabad, Gujarat, India, August 2026 — Zydus Group has appointed Sandeep Majumdar as Executive Vice President, Biologics Operations. Based in Ahmedabad, he will lead the company’s biologics manufacturing operations, with a focus on strengthening world-class manufacturing capabilities, advancing operational excellence, driving innovation, and developing high-performing teams while maintaining an unwavering commitment to quality and patient-centric healthcare.
Sandeep brings more than 18 years of leadership experience in biologics manufacturing, biotechnology, therapeutic proteins, and large-scale plant operations. Most recently, he spent over a decade at Intas Pharmaceuticals, where he progressed through several senior leadership roles, including Vice President – Operations, Senior Vice President – Biologics Operations, and Associate Executive Vice President. During his tenure, he led biologics manufacturing, engineering operations, and Manufacturing Science & Technology (MSAT), playing a pivotal role in scaling manufacturing capabilities and driving operational excellence across the company’s biopharmaceutical operations.
Before joining Intas Pharmaceuticals, Sandeep served as Senior Director at Biocon, where he led fermentation manufacturing and supported the company’s biologics production initiatives. Earlier, he was General Manager – Manufacturing Therapeutic Protein and Biochemicals at Reliance Life Sciences Pvt. Ltd., overseeing the manufacturing of recombinant therapeutic proteins, fermentation and purification of bacterial and CHO cell culture-based proteins and antibodies, as well as process development for hyaluronic acid-based formulations. Across his career, he has built deep expertise in biologics manufacturing, protein chemistry, biotechnology, GMP compliance, cell culture technologies, and process optimization.
Sandeep holds a Bachelor of Science (Technology) in Pharmaceuticals and Fine Chemicals from UDCT Matunga, Mumbai, providing a strong technical foundation that has supported his distinguished career in biologics manufacturing and pharmaceutical operations.
