Delhi, India, June 2025 – Ankita Batra has been named the new Vice President Human Resources at SMBC Group, marking a significant milestone in her HR leadership journey. In this new role, Ankita will spearhead the Group’s people strategies in India, focusing on driving talent initiatives, employee engagement, and organizational development for one of the world’s top-tier financial institutions.
Ankita has dedicated the past decade to SMBC Group, growing through a series of progressive HR roles. Most recently, as Assistant Vice President Human Resources, she played a pivotal role in enhancing HR operations, talent management, and employee experience. Her tenure as Manager Human Resources and Assistant Manager Human Resources further established her expertise in managing diverse HR functions, supporting business growth, and championing a positive workplace culture.
Before her journey at SMBC Group, Ankita gained valuable experience at American Express, serving as a Sr. Associate HR Generalist. There, she managed large-scale HR databases, year-end processes, compensation analysis, talent management, and various employee engagement initiatives, honing her skills in both operational and strategic HR domains. Her career began at Careercruise as a Management Trainee, where she built a foundation in HR best practices.
