Minneapolis, Minnesota, United States — U.S. Bank has appointed Ann Barron-DiCamillo as Executive Vice President and Global Chief Information Security Officer (CISO), reinforcing the bank’s commitment to cybersecurity, technology resilience, and enterprise risk management as it continues to strengthen its position as one of the largest financial institutions in the United States.

A highly respected cybersecurity executive with more than 25 years of leadership experience spanning banking, financial services, government, and critical infrastructure, Ann brings a unique blend of expertise in cyber operations, threat intelligence, risk management, technology transformation, incident response, and security governance. In her new role, she will lead U.S. Bank’s global information security strategy, overseeing efforts to protect critical systems, customer data, and digital assets while advancing the organization’s cyber resilience capabilities.

Prior to joining U.S. Bank, Ann spent more than five years with Citi, where she held several senior leadership positions. Most recently, she served as Managing Director and Global Head of Tech Optimization, a newly created executive role focused on technology modernization, operational efficiency, risk reduction, and enterprise-wide technology transformation. She was responsible for driving strategic initiatives that optimized technology operations, strengthened workforce effectiveness, enhanced software utilization, and accelerated modernization efforts across the global banking organization.

Before that, she served as Managing Director and Global Head of Cyber Operations at Citi, where she led the company’s global cyber defense, security monitoring, incident response, and threat management capabilities, helping strengthen cybersecurity resilience across one of the world’s largest financial institutions.

Earlier in her career, Ann spent four years with American Express as Vice President, Cyber Threat Intelligence and Incident Response, leading cybersecurity operations, cyber threat intelligence, digital forensics, information security monitoring, and incident response functions. Her work played a critical role in protecting enterprise systems and strengthening the company’s overall cyber defense posture.

Prior to entering the private sector, Ann held several distinguished public service and technology leadership roles. She served as Director of the United States Computer Emergency Readiness Team (US-CERT) within the U.S. Department of Homeland Security, where she led national cybersecurity incident response efforts, cyber threat analysis, and information-sharing initiatives involving hundreds of public and private sector organizations. Under her leadership, US-CERT managed one of the world’s most significant cyber operations centers, monitoring billions of network transactions and coordinating responses to major cybersecurity incidents.

Her earlier career included leadership positions with DISA, Jefferson Consulting Group/Privacy Council, the U.S. Department of Commerce, and technology-focused roles with The Motley Fool and the office of U.S. Representative Tom Coburn.

In addition to her executive leadership experience, Ann has also contributed to the advancement of cybersecurity education and industry collaboration. She served as an Adjunct Professor at American University, teaching Cybersecurity Risk Management and Governance, and was a member of the Board of Directors of FS-ISAC, the global financial services information sharing and intelligence organization.

Ann’s appointment comes at a time when financial institutions face increasingly sophisticated cyber threats and growing regulatory expectations. Her extensive experience leading cybersecurity programs across government agencies and global financial institutions is expected to play a pivotal role in strengthening U.S. Bank’s security capabilities while supporting innovation, digital transformation, and customer trust.

With a career dedicated to safeguarding critical systems and enabling secure business growth, Ann is well-positioned to lead U.S. Bank’s global information security organization into its next phase of advancement and resilience.
