San Antonio, Texas, United States, July 2026 — USAA has appointed Gracie Lozano as Vice President, Employee Experience, entrusting her with the responsibility of shaping and advancing the employee experience strategy across the organization as it continues to serve the financial security needs of the military community and their families.
A respected human resources leader with more than three decades of experience at USAA, Gracie brings deep expertise in human capital strategy, talent management, organizational transformation, employee engagement, workforce planning, leadership development, succession planning, and culture transformation. Her appointment reflects a remarkable 32-year career dedicated to supporting employees, leaders, and business units across nearly every major area of the organization.
In her new role, Gracie will focus on creating meaningful employee experiences that enable USAA’s workforce to continue delivering exceptional service to military members, veterans, and their families. Her personal connection to the military community as a military daughter, military spouse, and military mother further strengthens her alignment with USAA’s mission and values.
Prior to this appointment, Gracie served as Vice President, Senior HR Business Partner – Insurance, where she acted as the strategic HR advisor to the Presidents of USAA’s Property & Casualty and Life Insurance businesses. In this role, she led a team of 27 HR professionals supporting more than 16,000 employees, representing approximately 42 percent of the company’s workforce. She played a key role in leadership development, workforce strategy, succession planning, talent management, organizational effectiveness, and risk management across some of USAA’s largest business units.
Earlier, she served as Assistant Vice President, Senior HR Business Partner – Life and Health Insurance, where she supported major organizational transformation initiatives, including operating model changes, talent strategy redesign, leadership development, and employee transition programs.
Before that, Gracie held the position of Assistant Vice President, Senior HR Business Partner – Financial Advice and Service Group, where she played a pivotal role in managing the employee experience associated with major strategic transactions involving Victory Capital and Charles Schwab. Her leadership helped create successful transition pathways for approximately 1,500 impacted employees while maintaining engagement, retention, and organizational continuity.
Throughout her USAA career, Gracie has progressively advanced through numerous leadership positions including Executive Director, Senior HR Business Partner, Lead HR Business Partner, HR Business Partner – Banking, HR Business Partner – Life and Investment Operations/Property & Casualty Insurance, Human Resources Workforce Planner, Employee Relations Analyst, Senior HR Specialist, Executive Administrator, and Sales Representative.
Across these assignments, she has contributed significantly to workforce transformation, talent acquisition, career development, employee engagement, organizational design, workforce analytics, leadership development, employee relations, and business transformation initiatives. She has successfully led organizational restructurings, talent mobility programs, workforce planning initiatives, career path redesigns, and employee development programs that have strengthened USAA’s ability to attract, retain, and develop talent.
Her career progression from frontline customer-facing roles to enterprise-level HR leadership provides her with a unique understanding of both employee and business needs. This perspective is expected to be instrumental as USAA continues investing in employee experience, culture, leadership development, and workforce excellence.
