UPM Communication Papers has announced the appointment of Anna Polvenlahti as the new Director of HR for its Operations. This new role marks a significant step in Anna’s illustrious career with UPM, where she has dedicated nearly five years to enhancing the company’s human resources strategy.
Anna’s journey at UPM began in November 2022, when she took on the role of Director of HR for Finnish Pulp Operations. Over her tenure, she has been pivotal in driving strategic HR initiatives that align with UPM’s broader business objectives, focusing on negotiation, employee engagement, and organizational development. Her new role as Director will see her extending her expertise to a broader operational scale, overseeing HR strategies across UPM Communication Papers’ global operations.
Before her time at UPM, Anna Polvenlahti demonstrated her HR acumen in various leadership roles. She served as the Legal Counsel of HR, where she developed and enforced HR policies, managed training materials, and led change management initiatives. Her prior roles have seen her at HKScan Corporation as Head of Employee Relations, and at Telia Finland, where she managed industrial relations and labor law compliance. Her extensive experience is backed by her time as a Senior Associate at Krogerus, where she specialized in employment law, advising on complex HR issues related to corporate transactions and restructuring.
