Mumbai, Maharashtra, India, September 2025 — Ashish Kumar has been appointed as Vice President – Digital and Gen AI Projects (Process Re-engineering) at HDFC Bank, marking a significant milestone in his 22-year career in banking and financial services. In this role, he will lead strategic initiatives around Artificial Intelligence, Generative AI, and digital enablement, with a focus on enhancing customer experience across the bank’s omnichannel ecosystem.
At HDFC Bank, Ashish previously served as DVP – Customer Experience & Journey and National Lead – Rural Customer Engagement & Customer Service, where he strengthened customer service frameworks, improved engagement models, and advanced operational excellence across diverse segments.
Earlier, Ashish spent more than 15 years at ICICI Bank, where he managed key retail banking portfolios such as Salary Accounts, Liability Products, Affluent Customer Strategy, and Branch Sales Channels. He was instrumental in pioneering innovations including Tab Banking and digital account onboarding, setting the foundation for future-ready banking models.
He began his professional journey with ICFAI and Hughes Communications, contributing to corporate sales, channel development, and business growth. His extensive experience across product management, digital transformation, customer engagement, and process re-engineering reflects his versatility and impact within the BFSI ecosystem.
An MBA graduate from Welingkar Institute of Management, and an alumnus of ISB Executive Education (Leadership with Artificial Intelligence), Ashish has also completed a Fintech Programme by the Reserve Bank of India, equipping him with cutting-edge knowledge in AI, blockchain, cybersecurity, and digital lending.
